Quick Search is as an alternative to Windows built-in searcher. In this regard, it overcomes some limitations such as excessive waiting time and lack of options.

The application works by indexing contents and providing instant access to them through its easy-to-use interface. What’s more, it can also allow Internet searches, specifically in Bing. It is a pity, though, that no other engine can be configured.

Finding a given file or folder is not difficult at all. All is required is typing the search keywords. Furthermore, the application allows setting various kind of matches such as full name and whole word. Although the standard full interface mode looks minimalist, there’s also mini mode, in which a tiny window floats on top of whatever is on your screen.

Compared with other similar tools, Quick Search is limited to finding files and folders. Unfortunately, it can’t index other types of contents like mail messages. However, it has the advantage of allowing you to personalize search categories and even to create new ones by associating them with given file extensions.

In a nutshell, Quick Search is definitely a valid replacement to your system’s default search feature. It provides quick results and customized search categories. On top of that, it is also absolutely free, so you have nothing to lose if you try it at least for a while.
